Today is our wedding anniversary, 12 years... how the time has passed in such a wonderful way... and gets better each day... happy anniversary my love...

so to celebrate we have a table booked at Kew Grill... but... the credit crunch is taking its toll... but we support and wish all the folk at Kew and the rest of the chain who now see an uncertain future all the very best, these are difficult times...

We went looking for the location of yesterdays pic, we got close, with the Star and Garter at the back the Petersham Hotel, in the middle, and the The Rose of York pub at the bottom... the lodge has long gone...

update.. the buildings at the bottom of the pic yesterday may have been Almshouses (scroll to base of page) demolished in 1953.. Margie is quite the internet sleuth. Though I'm not convinced these are the same buildings, the Star and Garter looks all wrong and the chimney pots are wrong on the lower building... However the description may be right, but the wrong pic on Richmond Local History's part.

A few days ago my bloggy friend Margie sent me this pic of the Star and Garter at the top of Richmond Hill, seen from Petersham Meadows, its obviously an old pic as there have been a number of changes to the Star and Garter since then. I think the building in the foreground might be Devonshire Lodge, but I could be wrong... but that has gone too...

A few months back it looked like this, but yesterday for the brief time we ventured out... a little different, roll on spring...

Woke this morning to find that 6 inches / 15 cms of snow has fallen on us over night... currently -2c in the garden. This is the heaviest snow fall in London for over 20 years...
All the buses have been suspended across all of London, which is fair, I remember driving buses in the snow in the late 1980's, not nice... and the tubes and trains are suspended also... So not going anywhere for a while I guess...
